Character limit: I am using the USB ports on the back of the machine which have always worked in the past. Its not a problem with the Ipod itself as I have tried my Dads and my sisters. I havnt tried it on the laptop yet as itunes was not installed. Ill try reinstalling Itunes next as I believe that comes with the drivers for running the Ipod.

What do I do??? Hey guy, I just purchased the ipod shuffle 2nd gen. However, after installing the itune, i ran into a write and reading error. I try plugging the usb to the back and it still doesnt work. However after uninstalling it I am able to go into the shuffle as a media drive.

Andrew — I had the same error. I found that by installing quicktime standalone without itunes then re-running the itunes installer, the problem went away — though you have to be patient with the itunes install.
