Vango vista 800 dlx tent laurel meadow

Our companions had a hole ripped in 1 tent and the other was blown over. Ours did have some slight damage in extremely strong winds, but on the whole it was insignificant compared to those without the TBS in their tents. The tent is very heavy due to its size, and it definitely needs a minimum of 2 adults to erect it. We have now upgraded to a caravan, but we have no hesitance in recommending this tent to anyone who is interested. The extra cost is worth it for the durability in adverse weather conditions.

From 13 reviews. Unfortunately the good points are far outweighed by the bad. If you need a tent I would suggest that a frame tent is far more durable. I think that Boogaloo's expectations of his tent may be unrealistic. The Vango Vista DLX is advertised as having so-called mountain attitude but this is, to my mind, simply sales hype. I don't think that anyone really expects to take a huge tunnel tent, over 2 metres tall, into challenging weather conditions?

The TBS system helps to maintain the shape of the tent under it's own weight and that is it's real purpose, not to prepare the tent for strong winds in open conditions. Vango advertise the tent as suitable for 2 season use and I think that this gives a better indication of where and how this tent is intended to be used ie sheltered campsites. Many people report that their Vistas stand-up to a real battering but beyond Force 5 winds on the Beaufort Scale you take pot luck!

If you want to be absolutely guaranteed of not budging, I'm afraid that you need to purchase a mountaineering tent not a large family tent. Easy to pitch even for us first timers. Its very easy to put up and down, it takes us about 15 minutes, the fly sheet can be tricky to get back into the bag, so make a note of how it comes out. Loads of room inside, especially if you take down the front bedroom the one against the large door and the removable partitions in the bed room are very handy.

By: Joshsayers Reason: I own ed one Made in: Rating: We are beginner campers and this tent is a brilliant first tent. We only use one bedroom department as there is only the 3 of us so we have plenty of living space the only downside to this tent is that is quite a hassle to put up with only 2 people.

We soon got used to it. Excellent tent ,would recommend 0 from 0 people found this review helpful, was it helpful to you? By: Marty Reason: I own ed one Made in: Rating: Having just started camping with our two young kids last year and not having considered the draw backs of not having a sewn in ground sheet we bought a Rage Alta 6. Now altogether it was a good tent and afforded good stability and shelter in rough weather but was a bit draughty.

This year we decided if we were going to go camping regularly we should really get something a bit better so we had a good look around and decided on a Vango Vista DLX.

What a difference. Sewn in bath-tub groundsheet, storm flaps, three doors giving all sorts of options, little storage pods which are always full with all sorts of odds and ends! Wind and rain for about 4 hours. In the morning we had a good look round and all seemed to well with the tent, no movement and no water ingress, so all together it did really well.

We lent our Rage Alta to my wife's sister and her family - we all ended up in the Vista on the second night! A brilliant buy - has certainly passed it's early tests well and we're looking forward to giving it some longer outings next year.

If you have used this product please leave a review, or your comments for other visitors, many thanks! To leave a review you need to be logged in to the UKCampsite. Crystal clear windows and mesh your ventilation all add to the light and airy feel inside this tent. A great size 8 person tent with a full length ground sheet. If you're looking for a tent with mountain attitude, the TBS Vista is the tent for you. Offering massively sized accomodation for a family or group camping from the car.

Large living area for storage and domestic duties.
